The book gives fundamental thoughts about prototyping and hence would be a good starting point. 2. From a CAD/CAM point of view you may want to go through Design by Composition for Rapid Prototyping by Michael Binnard . This ones describes a design paradigm that facilitates design of integrated electromechanical devices for fabrication with novel rapid prototyping processes.
