how is rapid as a method of systems development different from prototyping, end user development and SDLC?

- Rapid system development is purely dependent on components already designed/tested and implemented in real environment and are considered best of quality. Prototyping / end user development / sdlc are all ways of creating such components. Rapid system development is not document intensive, is time effective, and guarantees high success rate as long as you already have components that meet user requirements. It is done with CASE tools. You cannot possibly develop a quality solution if you dont have components developed beforehand ready to be integrated in new project. It is good only for small businesses.
